Hello and welcome!
I’m Mandy. Thanks for coming to Yum For Tum. 🙂 This blog was borne from three things: 1) a long battle with food sensitivities that resolved when I got rid of dairy and gluten (hooray!), but meant that I needed to be a little more creative in the kitchen; 2) a desire to think more closely about what I was eating, where it was coming from, and what impact it was having on the rest of the world and to share all that knowledge; 3) and a creative outlet! Turns out you can’t be a scientist all the time.
Outside of Yumming For Tumming, I’m a veterinarian and recently finished a Master’s Degree in Public Health. Agriculture matters, my friends, and though I didn’t 3-4 years ago, I care so, so deeply about it now. Brief soapbox and why this blog is vegan: the world can’t support all the animal products that we (and when I say we, I mean all humans) consume now. Try as industry might to make it work, they’ll fail. So why not eat vegan a couple times a week? It’s easy and hopefully these recipes make it even easier. Just food for thought. Soapbox now put away.
In my time outside of soapboxing, veterinarianing, and Yum For Tumming, I love being out in nature as much as possible, hanging with the people I love, exploring all there is to explore (which is a lot), smiling, and in the next couple of months, I’ll be a certified yoga teacher. Huzzah!
Take a peek around, let me know if you have questions, and enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by!
This is me (and my man) in my two favorite settings. 🙂
All the recipes and photos you’ll find on Yum For Tum are developed and taken by me unless otherwise noted. I know you guys are cool and I don’t want to sound like a jerk, but please don’t take photos without asking. Whew. There, I said it.
Happy browsing! 🙂
Let’s cook together sometime!!
